I booked a class but now I can’t do that day, can I swap?

LONGER COURSES

All of our longer courses are exchangeable up until 28 days prior to the start of the course. After this, you are able to change your booking to a different course for a £20 admin fee. Please note that from 14 days prior to the start of the course, your booking is non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

TASTER CLASSES

We are not able to offer refunds for Taster Class bookings, so be sure to double check your dates before booking. However, we also realise that the unexpected happens, and that a degree of flexibility is appreciated. We therefore allow transfers to other Taster Classes up until 14 days prior to the class. Within 14 days of the class, exchanges are not allowed but you can pass your spot on to a friend or family member.

DROP-IN SESSIONS

We are not able to offer refunds for Drop-In bookings, so be sure to double check your dates before booking. However, we also realise that the unexpected happens, and that a degree of flexibility is appreciated. We therefore allow transfers to other dates up until 14 days prior to the date of your original booking. We cannot offer discounts for those who wish to attend only part of a session.

Our refund policies are strict because they enable us to pay our staff a fair wage, and remain accessible as a studio. Each week we get 8-10 requests and if we were to accommodate each one, we would be forced to lower our staff wages or increase our prices - both of which we really want to avoid. We hope you understand that this is why there are no exemptions to our refund policies.

When will my work be ready?

Taster Classes

You will receive an email from us when your work is ready to collect. We advise that it takes 8 weeks for work to be fired. It’s usually sooner than this, but please do wait until you receive the pick-up email before getting in touch.

Longer Courses

Please wait 4 weeks from the end of your course before coming to collect your work. You can come any time during our collection times and there is no need to let us know when you are planning to come. We keep work for 3 months after it has come out of the kiln, so please make sure that you collect it within this time frame. All unclaimed student work gets donated to charity.

Drop-Ins

Please wait 4 weeks from you put your work through for firing before coming to collect your work. You can come any time during our collection times and there is no need to let us know when you are planning to come. We keep work for 3 months after it has come out of the kiln, so please make sure that you collect it within this time frame. All unclaimed student work gets donated to charity.

can someone else pick my work up for me?

If you are not able to make it back to the studio for any reason, you are more than welcome to arrange for someone to collect the work on your behalf. Please provide them with your class number if you have one, the date of your class and your initials (the ones you wrote on the bottom of your pot). If you have a picture of your work, please provide this as well.

Can you post my work to me?

Unfortunately we do not have the capacity to pack and ship students work. Once you have a received a collection email, you are welcome to come and collect your pieces during our pick- up times, which you can find here. If you are not able to collect your work for any reason, you can arrange for someone to collect it on your behalf.

If i make stuff at home can you fire it for me?

We are not able to provide a firing service as our kilns run at full capacity with work from Taster classes, longer courses, drop- ins and Stine’s own work. Our kilns are also set to a firing schedule to work with our clay and unique glazes, it would not be possible for us to guarantee that work made using outside clay and glazes would fire correctly and we cannot risk damaging student work or the kiln itself.

Can I bring my kids to class/ do you do kids classes?

At SkandiHus, we aim to create a relaxed, healing environment for adults where they can let go of their usual responsibilities, such as being a parent. We are not able to accommodate children in our classes, nor do we provide children’s classes at this time.

Is there parking available at
the studios?

We don’t have designated parking at any of our studios, but you can park on the neighbouring streets.

is there a bike rack at the studio?

We have space for 5 bikes at our Clapton studio, and there are bike racks on the neighbouring streets. At our De Beauvoir studio, there is always space on the bike rack of our lovely neighbours, “de Beauvoir Block”. At our Walthamstow studio, there are bike racks on Hoe Street at the end of the mews.
